"I was dreaming a fine bogey tale . . ."
Date: 17 Aug 2006 22:09 (UTC)Yep.
I'm still in shock. Not really over the dream, because (apart from a handful contextually unique details, which really were the crux of the matter) it was practically a stock-and-trade nightmare. For me, anyway. No: I'm in shock over how much it bothered me. I've been telling everyone. "I had the worst nightmare ever last night!" I announced cheerfully to T.J. when he picked me up for work this morning. "My weekend? It was fine, but I had the worst nightmare EVER last night!" I replied to some woman on the elevator when she asked me how my weekend went. "I didn't get much sleep last night, and I had this horrible nightmare!" I said to my boss with a smile after he told me I looked like hell this morning.
And now I'm telling you.
So.
Expect a little bit of weirdness over the next few days. Possibly some odd questions on the nature of fear, and whether or not a certain line sounds more menacing or cheesy, because I plan on pulling a Robert Louis Stevenson and writing this dream down in novelized form. The Novel Which Shall Never Be Finished In My Lifetime will have to suck it (so to speak) for a little while, because I think I'm going to be this bothered over it until I get the dream out of my head. The only sure exorcision I can think of is to write it out.
So there's that.
